Access the Braintree Control Panel

Log into the Braintree sandbox or production environment. Check Transactions for pending settlements and Subscriptions for active recurring billing.

Go to Subscriptions to see all active recurring billing. Note the number of active subscribers and total recurring revenue. These customers will be affected by any changes.

Coordinate with the development team

Braintree is deeply integrated into the application code. The developer or agency that built the integration must be involved in any ownership transfer or migration.

Export transaction and customer data

Download all transaction reports, customer vault data (without full card numbers), and subscription information for financial records.

Contact Braintree/PayPal about ownership transfer

Braintree is a PayPal company. Contact their support about the estate situation. They may have a process for transferring the merchant account to a new owner.
