Transfer autopay to surviving family

Log in to RentCafe and update the payment method to a surviving family member\u2019s bank account or card. If you cannot access the account, contact the property management company directly.

Contact property management

Notify the property management company of the passing. Provide a death certificate and request that a surviving tenant or executor be added to the lease.

Document lease end date

Record the lease expiration date and any early termination clauses. Understand your obligations and options for breaking the lease if the unit will be vacated.
