Step-by-Step Guide

1

Check for Emergency Access contacts

Keeper allows up to 5 trusted people to be granted emergency access. Check if this feature was configured — the trusted contact can request access after a waiting period.

2

Find the master password

Search physical locations for the master password. Keeper uses zero-knowledge encryption so without it, the vault cannot be unlocked.

3

Check for Account Transfer (family plan)

If the deceased had a Keeper Family plan, the family admin may be able to transfer or access shared vaults.

4

Contact Keeper support

Reach out to Keeper support with a death certificate and legal documentation for account-level assistance.
