Log in to cPanel → Backup → Download Full Backup. This includes all files, databases, email accounts, and configurations.
Export databases separately
cPanel → phpMyAdmin → Export for each database. A separate export ensures data integrity beyond the full backup.
Transfer domains if registered with HostGator
If domains are registered through HostGator, get EPP/auth codes and transfer to another registrar before closing the account.
Cancel hosting or contact support
Cancel the hosting plan to stop charges. Contact HostGator support for estate account procedures. Note any prepaid annual terms.
