Step-by-Step Guide

1

Find the master password

Dashlane uses zero-knowledge encryption. The master password is the only way in. Check safes, sealed envelopes, and attorney's files.

2

Check for recovery key

Dashlane offers an Account Recovery Key that can be generated in settings. Check if this was printed or stored physically.

3

Try biometric access on devices

If the deceased's device has biometric unlock (fingerprint/face) enabled for Dashlane, you may be able to access the vault if you can unlock the device.

4

Contact Dashlane support

Contact Dashlane with a death certificate and legal documentation. They cannot decrypt the vault but may help with account management.
